Early History and Mission Statement of the Indian Association of Chiropractic Doctors
The Indian Association of Chiropractic Doctors (IACD) was voted into the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) in June 2005, during a conference that was held in Sydney, Australia. The WFC is an association affiliated with the World Health Organization (WHO). They have sanctioned the Indian Association of Chiropractic Doctors as the official association for Chiropractic in India.
The IACD aims to implement the natural healing effects of chiropractic care into the general Indian public while protecting its image. Our role in India, is to act as the regulatory body ensuring that chiropractic is being portrayed in a positive light, be the host for any abroad school trips to India, and create a positive working relationship with officials in India (both at the federal and provincial levels).
Current Mission objective for the Indian Association of Chiropractic Doctors (IACD)
The mission objective of the Indian Association of Chiropractic Doctors (IACD) is to promote Chiropractic awareness and its importance among the public in India, and to establish integrity of the profession as one of many major health care providers within the world’s largest Democracy. Accomplishing this goal will require assembling a motivated team of students in various Chiropractic colleges as student body representatives of IACD, rallying doctors and students together for any charitable causes in India, understanding the importance in forming partnerships with various doctors of other discipline, as well as making alliances with political figures within the Indian government, and arranging further details into the expansion of the association itself.
Future projection:
- IACD Registered Doctors of Chiropractic practicing in every major city throughout India.
- Charitable Health Camps and Voluntary Mission Trips established throughout the rural areas of India.
- Establishment of the very first Chiropractic College in India
Mission objective for the Indian Association of Chiropractic Doctors Student Body (IACD SB)
The mission objective for the Indian Association of Chiropractic Doctors Student Body (IACD SB) is to promote awareness among Chiropractic students in all colleges over the importance of the IACD. Students shall be made aware of the IACD and its efforts in promoting the expansion of Chiropractic as an important health care profession within the International arena, and to rally any volunteer efforts in providing humanitarian aid for those that are at a disadvantage in India through organizing and attending health camps / mission trips.
Note: As of November 2007, all mission trips involving students that wish to perform Chiropractic treatments in India have been suspended.
